The word "Like" is word heroin.
For over a decade the english language, especially in America, has been reduced to rubbles, we no longer take the time to spell things out. When we write we tend to shorten and simplify things. Such as ttyl, lol or g2g as i'm sure many are familiar with. Interestingly enough when we talk we add the word "like" to every other word we say. Why is this?
Most describe it as a stutter and that we can't help but do. I see it as the brain not managing to process information fast enough and thus filling the time and space with the word "like." The more we use it the slower our brain works to find the words we need to say. It is a dumbing down of the human speech. I consider it the heroin of the english language. The more we do it the worse it seems to get. Till one day where we will force a brains to move at such a slow pace it will take us hours for us to explain the simplest thoughts.
